[GIFTED] Review: Surviving Society Tees

white tshirt with red text that reads fierce femme alongside converse shoes

If you read my last post then it probably comes as no surprise to hear that I'm a big fan of slogan tees, so when the lovely Katie from Surviving Society asked if I'd like to review this eye-catching little number, it was only ever going to be a yes!

It wasn't just the bright, bold design that drew my attention to this t-shirt though. This brand have got a lot to shout about!

Surviving Society is a small business which stands for everything that I'm passionate about. As well as making awesome tees, they also work to support charities, raise awareness of mental health issues, empower women and spread positivity. What's not to love?!

That love continued to spread when my t-shirt arrived quickly and in a neatly wrapped package. As I opened it up, the first thing that struck me was how lovely the material was - honestly, these tees are SO soft!

There's no doubt that the high quality of Surviving Society's clothing is down to the way that it's manufactured. All of their t-shirts are climate neutral, meaning that they've been made using renewable green energy from wind and solar power. They're also produced ethically through the Fair Wear Foundation who are responsible for making sure that workers are treated well and paid a fair wage.

I was really keen to try on my super soft new t-shirt and was so pleased to find that it fit beautifully (which is saying a lot since I'm quite fussy when it comes to the fit of my clothes!) I'm usually a size 12-14 so I was torn between a Medium and a Large. In the end I went for a size Medium and found that it fits me perfectly around the arms and the bust. I've got to admit that it's a little more snug than I'd like around the mum tum (which is totally my fault, not the t-shirt's!) so I'd suggest sizing up if you prefer a baggier fit.

As someone who's quite self-conscious, I'm not usually a fan of white tops but this one is genuinely really flattering (and more importantly, not too see-through!) That being said, it would be great to see these in other colour combinations in future.

Speaking of colours, it's hard to capture just how vibrant the design is. The 'Fierce Femme' text is made using eco-friendly inks and that vivid red colour combined with a striking font really captures what the slogan is all about.

Now let's talk a bit more about that awesome slogan. My initial reaction was that there's no way I could pull it off - as much as I'd like to, I definitely don't see myself as fierce! And yet it got me thinking about the meaning of the word. Do I love fiercely? Of course. Am I fierce in my views and opinions? Definitely. Am I fiercely protective? Absolutely! These are all things that I've become so much more aware of since becoming a mum and growing to realise just how incredible women are. Having my boys has really opened my eyes to the amazing things that my body is capable of and after years of focusing on my flaws I'm finally beginning to feel proud of being female. So, in short, YES - I can totally rock this t-shirt!

If you feel the same and want to spread this powerful message to your little ones then you'll be pleased to know that Surviving Society also make matching tees for children with 'Fierce Mini' emblazoned across the front. Unfortunately my boys are now a bit too big to model these but I think the slogan would suit them both down to the ground!

The 'Fierce Femme' tee is available in sizes S to XL and costs £22.00. The 'Fierce Mini' tee is available in sizes 0-3 months to 12-18 months and costs £14.00.
