Nuby UK's Big Reveal Event

Way back when Finley was entering the world of weaning, we just couldn't get him to use a sippy cup. After months and months of trying different ones, the brand that eventually did the trick was Nuby! Ever since then they've been one of our absolute favourite baby brands so we were delighted to be invited along to Nuby's Big Reveal Event in London last week.

The event promised to launch Nuby's new products for 2018 in an unexpected way and wow - they did not disappoint!

After navigating the tube with an awestruck 4 year old (not an easy task, believe me!) we arrived at Covent Garden's super cool Icetank venue, where we were greeted with our first surprise of the day - Chase and Marshall from Paw Patrol! Finley was so excited and ran straight over for a cuddle while I took the opportunity to chat with some other bloggers over a glass of prosecco.

Soon it was time to take a seat for the presentation and that's where the real fun began! I had no idea what to expect but after an exciting build up, we were joined by a whole host of well-loved characters (Spiderman, The Hulk, Chase and Marshall from Paw Patrol plus Ana and Elsa from Frozen) who acted out a performance using the new Nuby products as props. This was a such brilliant way of making the event exciting for kids as well as being informative for adults.

The whole performance was non-stop fun from start to finish with singing, clapping, plenty of silliness from the characters and a big dance routine to 'Uptown Funk' (with some seriously impressive moves from Spiderman!) to round it all off. Finley was totally mesmerised by the whole thing and kept saying that he couldn't wait to tell his friends about it at pre-school!

A delicious lunch was served up after the performance and then it was time to take a look at the new products. Nuby have just released 3 new ranges (Baby Shower gift sets, Thirsty Kids cups and the Little Gems UberDummy range) and we were given the opportunity to see all of them up close and ask questions. Here's what we found out:

Baby Shower Gift Sets
Whether it's for a baby shower or simply to treat yourself, these gifts are perfect for parents-to-be. The sets are full of must-have items and I love that you can choose from a mix of keepsakes and practical baby gear, depending on who you're buying for.

I totally fell in love with the grey, black and cream colour scheme across this product range. Everything was of high quality and looked gorgeous but there were a few items in particular that caught my eye.

First up was the Luxury Baby Blanket; these come in grey with a choice of zebra, fox or rocking horse print. They're so thick and snuggly and would be perfect for chilly walks out in the pram or for your baby to wriggle around on in the garden on warmer days.

The baby carriers got a lot of attention too. Pictured below is the Extra Comfort Baby Carrier (the more structured version) which can be used from newborn onwards and converts into different positions as your baby grows. Personally I prefer more lightweight carriers so I really liked the look of the other two styles as they're a lot slimmer and can be folded away. Both of these are suitable from 4 months+ (for front carries) and feature built in sun hoods as well as chew pads for teething. The Foldable Travel Baby Carrier was probably my favourite as it has loads of pockets and even folds up into a handy travel bag!

The real stand out products for me were definitely the changing bag backpacks. They come in black and a textured grey and just look so stylish! They're super practical too with a travel changing mat, insulated bottle storage and loads of easy access pockets, as well as large handles to attach it to a pram when it's not being used as a backpack.

The changing backpack is definitely something I'd use as I always end up packing loads when I'm out and about with the boys, so this would make it easier to find things on the go without having to pull everything out!

Little Gems Birthstone UberDummy

Now I'm not much of an expert on dummies as neither of the boys ever really showed an interest in them, but what I do know is that these ones are really, really pretty!

The Little Gems range of UberDummies is suitable from 0-18 months and features a different birthstone for every month. Again, these would make great gifts as they can be chosen based on a little one's personality traits, the meaning behind their birthstone or simply their favourite colour.

As well as looking great, they're also kind to little gums as the teat is cherry shaped and orthodontic dentist approved. The design means that they're fully sealed and therefore super easy to clean.

My favourite thing about the Little Gems UberDummy is definitely their sparkly, glass-like look but I also like that they're so affordable at just £3.99 (RRP) each.

Thirsty Kids Cups

Last but not least was Nuby's new range of cups, which aims to encourage children to drink in a playful way. I know so many parents who worry about how much their little ones are eating and drinking so it's great that Nuby are addressing this in their product design. There's a whole range of fun colours and patterns to choose from and all of the bottles in the range are clear so that parents can make sure their children are keeping hydrated.

As I said before, I know from experience how hard it can be to get kids to drink from a sippy cup so I like that there are so many different varieties available. The ones that impressed me most were the 360 Wonder Mini (which comes with handles) and the 360 Wonder Maxi (which is slightly larger and doesn't have handles) as they help children to learn to drink from an open cup without the mess! They work like magic and only release liquid when the seal is pressed down as you drink.

I'm also a big fan of the Incredible Gulp (and Captain Quench - a bigger version which comes with an easy grip band). These both feature a soft silicone spout which flips up at the press of a button. My own water bottle is actually quite similar to this and both boys love pressing the button again and again so I've got a feeling this style will be a hit with them!

Other bottles in the range are the Mighty Swig, which has a solid plastic flip up spout an easy grip band, and the Power Sipper which features a no spill hygienic cover over the straw. All of these cups are made from tough materials and are BPA free. Considering how strong they are they're also quite reasonably priced, starting at just £6.99 (RRP).

So there we have it! Once we'd finished taking in all the new products, there was just enough time for Finley to play one last game with the characters from Frozen before heading home to Bristol.

We had so much fun at the event and I really enjoyed being able to experience it all through the eyes of a 4 year old (even though his antics meant that I didn't get much chance to chat to everyone!) I was so impressed with how much thought had gone into making the Big Reveal fun for all the children involved and can't wait to see what other exciting things Nuby have got up their sleeves!
