[GIFTED] Review: Lapland Letters

Receiving post is only really exciting when you're little but regardless of how old you are, you've got to admit that there's no delivery more magical than a letter sent straight from Lapland!

Christmas really is the most wonderful time of year for the boys - they just love everything about the build up to the big day, so when I discovered that Lapland Letters could arrange for Santa to send them a personalised letter just before Christmas, I just couldn't resist ordering one each!

The letters are beautifully presented and arrived in thick red envelopes, covered in stamps, postmarks and pictures. They looked very official so there was no doubt that they had been sent by the big man himself!

Jacob excitedly tore the envelope open whilst Finley carefully lifted the seal on his to reveal the most magical piece of post from Santa inside. The design and quality of the letters made them look and feel so authentic, which prompted the boys to handle them delicately as they took in the words.

At first glance, you'd be forgiven for thinking that their letters were exactly the same, but the boys actually received very different ones. The personal touch is definitely one of the best things about the fantastical service from Lapland Letters - when I ordered the letters I chose from 6 designs, all of which featured completely different wording. Better still, these change every year so not only does it mean that no child will ever receive the same letter twice, but it also helps to keep the magic of Santa alive!

As well as the theme, I was also able to select the boys' ages, present wishes, friends' names, their home town and more, to make sure that their letter were as personal to them as possible. There was also the option to have them signed from either 'Santa' or 'Father Christmas', depending on how he is known best in your household.

The sweetest little touch by far was the personalised note at the end of each letter. Being 5 and 2 means that the boys are still firm believers, but these notes would be especially great for older children who might be starting to doubt the existence of Santa! I decided to ask him to mention something that the boys had done well recently, so Finley's note was about working hard at Maths in Year 1 and Jacob's was about settling into pre-school.

Even now that I've read the boys' letters again and again, I still can't get over how wonderfully detailed they are. Considering that they only cost £5.95 each (including delivery), you get an awful lot for what you pay for. The letters are such good quality and given that they'll stay in the boys' keepsake boxes forever, I think they're worth every penny.

If you want to make your delivery even more special, then it's worth knowing that Lapland Letters also offer a whole host of magical extras to add to your order. Since the boys have been especially good this year, Santa kindly sent them a bumper activity pack (£2.95) each along with their letters! These included the following:

  • Good Child Certificate
  • Wishing Stars
  • Activity Christmas Card
  • Thank You Santa Postcard
  • Activity Sheets
  • Colouring Door Hanger
  • Santa Stop Here Poster

They were also lucky enough to receive one last little surprise, which they were both ridiculously excited about - a packet of magic reindeer food to leave out on Christmas Eve! Now, I've got to admit that I was a little worried about this as it made me wonder whether Santa had got the memo about keeping things eco-friendly in 2019. It seems that he's moving with the times though and I needn't have worried because this food is made from organic oats and doesn't contain plastic glitter, so it's totally safe for wildlife to eat (just in case the reindeer leave any behind!)

All of these little extra treats made the whole experience of receiving post from Santa that little bit more magical for the boys. As well as adding to the excitement that the festive season brings, the additional gifts would also be perfect for putting in Christmas Eve boxes or simply creating new traditions to remember forever. In fact, I've got a feeling that this will be the first of many deliveries from Lapland Letters to our door!

I'm terrible for leaving things until the last minute so, if you're anything like me, then you'll be pleased to know that there's still time to order from Lapland Letters! Letters can arrive as soon as 3 days after ordering (but due to the festive rush, Mrs Claus has recommended that you allow 5-7 working days from ordering for your letter to arrive!)

Last posting dates for Christmas 2019 are as follows:
Standard UK Orders: Thursday 19th of December 2019
Express (24 hour) UK Orders: last letter orders are on Monday 23rd of December 2019

The boys are I are signing off from the blog until the New Year now, but in the meantime we hope you have a very Merry Christmas!
